Last May three Penn State Seniors graduated. Two in information Science, another in Finance, all to respective jobs. But these students had a dream! This site is a tribute to that dream.
To build this site, I could have spent long hours coding it, and then finding space on some server to host it, but it all came down to what was the fastest, cleanest way. This was it for me. Weebly.com was the answer to my sloth. At this site there is an incredible set of web design tools that exist to make creating a website easier. How? Everything, and I mean everything, is customizable via drag-and-drop methods. It is extremely easy to use. My mother could do it, and she's the one that called the geek calls coding "tech stuff".
It supports blogging features, with built in archives and RSS feed capability, as well as "Contact Me" forms and and easy page setup. Top ten reasons to use Weebly for your next website:
- -in-site domain setup as either a sub domain of weebly, imported, or new domain at a discount price.
- -very versatile: if it doesn't pre-exist in drag and drop, or if your technologically gifted, there is a custom HTML editor that you can use to add coding direct to your site.
- -A Large variety of templates (over 30), all pictures optional or upload your own in their stead.
Weebly is in it's infancy stages. It is a little slow, but patience pays off. I highly recommend looking into this- it's going to be a big deal. With Web2.0 taking off around us, people with less technical skill want in on the action. Freewebs.com has already attempted to buy the site for a few million. Time.com rated it fourth in the "Top 50 Best New Sites of 2007" list. Join me, and start writing!
